Clinical Consultation & Supervision

Clinical consultation and supervision with us emphasizes helping clinicians develop an authentic voice as therapists, rather than learning to replicate someone else's approach. We work with early-career clinicians and licensed therapists seeking consultation—whether for ongoing support or a difficult therapeutic situation. The tone is collaborative and open, grounded in shared curiosity about the client and what the work evokes—clinically, emotionally, relationally, and culturally—as the case is explored together.

Drawing from depth- and meaning-oriented traditions, including Jungian approaches, we pay particular attention to strong emotional reactions that feel disproportionate, recurring themes or images, dreams clients bring, and moments of confusion or stuckness that arise for both therapist and client. These experiences may point to what needs attention in the therapeutic relationship and are often doorways to deeper understanding. This stance is grounded in trust in the psyche's capacity for self-healing, and in curiosity about what emerges when the therapist's countertransference, blind spots, and cultural and personal lenses are held with care.

Supervision emphasizes presence, meaning, and what the work is asking of the therapist in the moment. We also attend to how power, culture, and social location shape the therapeutic relationship, bringing a social justice lens to supervision without losing sight of the unique individuals involved.

Therapy for Therapists

Because we're the primary instrument of our work, our self-understanding shapes the quality of care we can offer. Personal therapy for therapists isn't the same as supervision—it's space to explore life, patterns, questions, and struggles, not just clinical cases. We work with therapists who want to deepen self-awareness, work through their own material, and have dedicated space for personal growth alongside clinical work.

This work often draws from depth traditions, exploring the ongoing process of becoming more fully yourself. We might work with dreams, recurring life patterns, creative blocks, relationship dynamics, or the edges where feeling stuck returns. We're also curious about the parts of yourself that have been disowned or ignored—what gets pushed into the background—which often show up in surprising ways in clinical work and personal life.

Therapists often come to therapy carrying fatigue from the weight of responsibility. Personal therapy offers room to attend to inner life with the same care often extended to clients, so self-knowledge, emotional flexibility, and sustainable ways of living can deepen alongside clinical skill.

Join Our Practice

We're not actively recruiting, but we're open to connecting with clinicians who may be a good fit for our practice. Vita Nova is a small, collaborative group grounded in multiculturalism, integrative care, and curiosity about the deeper themes shaping people's lives. The practice is informed by cross-cultural lived experience and a thoughtful social justice orientation. We learn from one another through consultation and shared reflection, and support ongoing clinical development.

For clinicians who need supervision, we provide co-created learning experiences that integrate our expertise in depth-oriented and multicultural work with trainees' developing voice, interests, and lived experience. We're also able to petition for employment-based immigration status, reflecting our own immigration histories and our commitment to supporting international clinicians.

If there's curiosity about Vita Nova and a sense of alignment, feel free to send a brief note introducing your background and interests. Even when we aren't actively expanding, we're interested in building relationships with clinicians whose approach resonates with ours.
