Individual Therapy
We meet people who come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are navigating specific challenges—anxiety that disrupts daily life, relationship patterns they're trying to understand, or major transitions like starting graduate school, changing careers, or adjusting to life in a new country. Others come with questions that feel less concrete but are equally important: What gives my life meaning? Why do I keep running into the same obstacles? How do I make sense of grief or loss? Often, people arrive with both—a current concern and deeper questions underneath.
Our Integrative Approach
Our approach draws from multiple traditions. We usually begin by understanding what brings people to therapy and what they hope will be different. From there, we identify what may be most helpful for each person, based on their goals, personality, and the way they approach challenges. For some people, therapy focuses on learning specific skills—managing anxiety through mindfulness and cognitive techniques, improving communication in relationships, or developing strategies for work-life balance. For others, therapy becomes a space to explore the deeper patterns and questions at the root of their concerns. Why is this anxiety showing up now? What might these recurring dreams mean? How do cultural expectations shape what I think I should want versus what I actually want? We find that the most meaningful work often integrates both: practical tools for daily life and curiosity about the larger questions of identity, purpose, and values.
Many of us are immigrants or come from families of immigrants. These experiences help us recognize the complexity of identity—how culture, family, and context can create tensions among loyalty, independence, ambition, and connection. This informs our work with people from diverse backgrounds—international students, professionals navigating institutions shaped by dominant cultural norms, and anyone exploring who they are outside of cultural and family expectations. We're attentive to the impact of systemic oppression, racism, and inequality on people's lives, and we approach this work with humility and intention.
Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after a break, and whether you have a clear goal or a vague sense that something needs attention, we're here to meet you where you are.
